Community Connectivity Committee Meetings

Update on CCC Meetings:
On February 22, the Village of Palmetto Bay Mayor withdrew her four committee appointees and are no longer hosting the meetings. The Town of Cutler Bay is now hosting the meetings for the new Community Connectivity Committee composed of the original four Cutler Bay appointed residents (listed below). You may watch all meetings through the links below.

About the Meeting

The Community Connectivity Committee has been called by District 8 Commissioner, Danielle Cohen Higgins, to allow our community to come together to discuss the topic of connectivity in our community and the idea of building a bridge on SW 87 Avenue between SW 164 Street and 163 Terrace.

The Committee is composed of eight members—four who oppose the bridge (appointed by Palmetto Bay Mayor Karyn Cunningham) and four who favor it (appointed by Cutler Bay Mayor Tim Meerbott). The members are as follows:

Palmetto Bay Appointees have been withdrawn by Mayor Cunningham on 2/22/2021:

  3. Joseph Miorelli
  4. AlJohn Farquharson

Cutler Bay Appointed:

  1. Ileah Hoppner
  2. Paul Blake
  3. Sandro Olivos
  4. Michelle Craven

The meetings will provide an opportunity for members to exchange relevant facts and perspectives in a respectful manner, in hopes of educating and reducing misinformation. Each side of the committee will also submit a comprehensive detailed report outlining their positions, which Commissioner Cohen Higgins will submit to the Transportation Planning Organization Board Members, in advance of their meeting where they will review this item.
