Cutler Bay Approves Flanigan’s Site Plan, Bringing New Restaurant One Step Closer to Groundbreaking

Cutler Bay, FL, April 21, 2026 – The Town of Cutler Bay has officially approved the site plan for Flanigan’s during the April 15, 2026, Town Council meeting, marking a major step forward for one of the most anticipated new additions to the community. With site plan approval now in place, the project can move into the permitting phase as Flanigan’s prepares to break ground by the end of the year.

Jimmy Flanigan and the Flanigan’s team attended Wednesday night’s meeting in person as the item came before the Town Council, highlighting the significance of the moment for both the restaurant and the Town. The future restaurant is planned for 20971 Old Cutler Road, within the Shoppes of Cutler Bay, the new Publix-anchored shopping center located next to the Town’s upcoming Legacy Park & Municipal Complex. This milestone also reflects a vision that dates back to the Old Cutler Road Charrette, when residents, even before incorporation, shared their desire for thoughtful community development and more places where families and friends could gather. As previously announced by the Town, the project represents another exciting investment in Cutler Bay’s continued growth and momentum, while also responding to longtime community interest in having more sit-down restaurant options in the area.

“This was a big moment for us, and we’re excited to take this next step in bringing Flanigan’s to Cutler Bay,” said Jimmy Flanigan. “We’ve felt a lot of enthusiasm from the community and great support from Town leadership throughout the process. With the plans now approved, we’re looking forward to moving into permits, breaking ground soon, and becoming part of the Cutler Bay family.”

Mayor Tim Meerbott said the approval reflects both community excitement and the Town’s continued commitment to attracting quality businesses that residents want to see close to home.
