Human Resources

The Administrative Services Department is responsible for effectively and efficiently administering Human Resources to all Town employees, elected officials and numerous members of the public each day.

Below are brief descriptions of the responsibilities and services provided within this division of the Administrative Services Department:

Compensation - responsible for the administration of the Town's compensation plan, position management and classification, and conducting period surveys to maintain a competitive and attractive edge to the Town's compensation/pay plan.

Employment - responsible for providing courteous and efficient service to employees and the general public relative to the application, selection and recruitment process.

Labor Relations - responsible for all activities concerning Town employees. This includes reviewing and analyzing major employment trends, implementing and maintaining fair employment practices, and being up-to-date on the most current developments of national, state and federal regulatory agencies. Additionally responsible for investigating and documenting disciplinary actions, cases/reports of employee misconduct, implementation of performance improvement plans, and assists the Town Manager with developing resolutions to issues of employee morale and human resources.

Pre-Employment Processes - responsible for the management of town-wide per-employment screening processes; including drug and alcohol testing, local, state and national background screenings.

Records  Responsible for maintaining all official records of the Administrative Services Department including all personnel files, as well as processing public record requests and employment verifications.

Testing & Validation - responsible for developing, administering and scoring valid examinations for entry level and promotional positions and coordinating and monitoring interview processes.

Training - responsible for coordinating the Town's organizational development, change management, and training programs.
