Project Description:

Miami-Dade County's Department of Transportation and Public Works will will soon begin work on Project No. 20200247: Drainage Improvements Projects on SW 216 Street from SW 94 Avenue to SW 87 Avenue.

The drainage improvement project is located at SW 216 Street from SW 94 Avenue to SW 87 Avenue within Miami-Dade County Commission District 8. This project was initiated due to documented flooding complaints within the boundaries described above. The scope of work consists of, but is not limited to, the construction of a storm drainage system consisting of exfiltration trenches and solid pipe along with drainage inlets and storm manholes, as well as miscellaneous roadway restoration.

Methodology and Efforts:

All efforts are being made to minimize the impact from construction activities to local residents, schools, businesses and motoring public in the area. The area will be restored to its original condition upon completion of the construction activities. The restoration activities will address any areas impacted by the project, such as grassy areas, sidewalks and other items affected by the construction.

Estimated Start:

Construction is scheduled to begin March 2021.

Estimated Completion:

Project is anticipated to be completed in April 2022.

*The start and end dates of this work may be significantly impacted by labor and material shortages associated with the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, as well as by weather events characteristic of the hurricane season.
