Tim Meerbott is a dedicated public servant and community leader with a long and distinguished record of service in the Town of Cutler Bay, Florida. A lifelong resident of the community he loves, Mayor Meerbott has played a pivotal role in shaping the town’s local government since its earliest days.

He began his public service as one of the original members of Cutler Bay’s Town Council following incorporation, serving from 2006 to 2010. In this role, he helped establish foundational governance structures and community-focused initiatives during the town’s formative years. He is honored as the first council member in Cutler Bay’s history to be sworn into office.

Mayor Meerbott’s commitment to his community continued with his election as Mayor in November 2018, and he has since been re-elected to serve multiple terms, reflecting strong community support and confidence in his leadership.

Throughout his tenure, Meerbott has been actively involved in a broad range of town initiatives and committees, including serving on the Town’s Charter Committee, acting as Town Business Liaison, and co-creating and chairing the South Dade Municipal Coalition. Under his leadership, Cutler Bay has taken on innovative community projects — from sustainability and green initiatives to thoughtful urban planning that preserves the town’s character while addressing growth and infrastructure challenges.

In addition to his work within Cutler Bay’s government, Mayor Meerbott has been appointed to regional commissions and advisory boards that focus on environmental sustainability and coastal resilience, further extending his impact beyond municipal borders.
