COVID-19 Update: County Curfew, Reopening of Beaches Postponed, and More

Countywide Curfew from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. Until Further Notice

On Saturday May 30, 2020, Miami-Dade Mayor Carlos A. Gimenez signed an Emergency Order instituting a countywide curfew. This curfew is from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. daily until further notice. During this curfew, people are not allowed on any streets or sidewalks for any purpose. The only people allowed in these areas are essential workers, including active-duty police, fire rescue, first responders, and medical, health care and utility repair service personnel, along with people returning directly to their homes from their place of employment and those walking their dogs within 250 feet of their residences.

 

County Postpones Reopening of Beaches

The reopening of beaches in Miami-Dade County, originally scheduled to reopen tomorrow, has been postponed until the County curfew order is lifted. Click here to read the County's release.

 

Additional Town Parks Reopening Tomorrow

The reopening the following Town Parks, with restrictions, beginning Monday, June 1: Blue Heron ParkLincoln City ParkSaga Bay ParkSaga Lake Park. We will also be reopening restrooms and parking lots at all parks that are open (Cutler Ridge Park and Lakes by the Bay Park). All other Town Parks not listed will remain closed until further notice.

All parks will be open daily from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. with restrictions that include:

  • Facial coverings shall be worn, except children under the age of 2, persons who have trouble breathing due to a chronic pre-existing condition, or persons engaged in strenuous physical activity
  • Social distancing must be observed (keep a minimum of 6 feet between individuals not in the same group
  • Walking paths will be one way (directional)
  • Playgrounds, outdoor exercise equipment, bike racks, batting cages, water fountains, swimming pool, recreational/concession buildings, volleyball courts will all be out of service/closed
  • No groups of 10 or more are permitted to gather
  • Organized sports and activities are not permitted
