Information
The Town of Cutler Bay contracts with Miami-Dade County for Police Services. Please call

The Department of Police was conceived through an interlocal agreement between the Town of Cutler Bay and Miami-Dade County. The Department officially began its operations with the Town on August 23, 2006. Charged with the primary responsibility to protect, the Department is fully committed to ensuring the safety and well-being of the Cutler Bay community, emphasizing community oriented policing and traffic safety. The Department is responsible for maintaining order and providing for the safe and expeditious flow of residents and visitors upholding the values of integrity, respect, service, and fairness. The daily operations and administration of the Department are overseen by the Town Commander with the assistance of a Police Lieutenant.

The goals of the policing unit are as follows:

  • Increase community involvement in safety and crime awareness by presenting literature and educational classes to private and public schools, civic groups and during public meetings.
  • Enhance crime trend identification and reporting techniques.
  • Enhance sexual predator monitoring.
  • Increase enforcement initiatives to reduce crimes against persons in the town.
  • Enhance the quality of investigations by unit detectives.
  • Identify hazardous street intersections where traffic collisions are occurring.
